Nantucket Sleighride is the second album by American rock band Mountain, formed in New York in 1969. Mountain is one of the bands that influenced the development of heavy metal music in the 1970s.
This album was originally released in 1971. Following the success of their debut album and appearances at Woodstock and other outdoor festivals Mountain continued their signature style Rock on this album. Its title is a reference to the experience of being towed along in a small boat by a harpooned whale.
